Frequently Asked Questions

Is Monty’s insured?
Yes. Monty’s has Business insurance with ABN Amro which specifically covers Animal Daycare. However, it is also required that your dog is covered under your own insurance.
What areas of Amsterdam do you cover?
At the moment, our collections service only covers Amsterdam-West, Zuid, and Oost inside the A10, however we are adding more areas very soon.
I have a puppy, can they come to the Daycare Centre?
Definitely! The early stages of your dog’s life are key to developing essential social and life skills. We accept puppies from 12 weeks, so long as they have had their 2nd vaccinations. We have a specific puppy area where they can play with other similar sized dogs.
What if it's raining?
Monty's is open come rain or shine! Although we are primarily an outdoor daycare, each area of the daycare has shelter available at all times. Most dogs aren't too fussed about a spot of rain, but for those that are there is always a cosy place to escape to.
Will my doggy come home clean?
In our experience, a dirty dog is a happy dog! But we also realise that a dirty dog often means an unhappy owner! We always try our best to send dogs home as clean as possible by way of towel dry. However, if you would like your pup to come home smelling like roses, why not opt for the The Lord Montgomery package, which includes a full shampoo and blow dry before dropping off.
Will my doggy be happy travelling to and from the centre?
Yes. Monty's dog travels in style, and we proudly take travel comfort very seriously! Our Doggy Buses are fitted with special air conditioning, have beds and big, individual and comfortable compartments.
Do you feed the dogs?
Every dog has a different diet or dietary requirements. For that reason, on day 1 (if you book “The Full Monty” or “The Lord Montgomery”), we give you a Monty’s lunchbox and bag so in the future, if you would like us to feed the little guys, you can pack their lunch and give it to us on pick up. It's like school all over again! Of course, we have some food on hand for day 1.
What time do you pick up and drop off each day?
We collect our dogs between 7:15 am and 8:45 am and drop them home between 15:30 and 16:45. The exact times depend on where you live within the route and the traffic on the day. We have different routes covering different parts of Amsterdam — allowing us to get everyone collected as quickly as possible! We will share a live tracking link so you can follow our journey toward you.
Can I take my dog to visit the grounds to check if they like it?
Of course! At Monty's, we encourage taking your four legged friends to the Monty's estate for a trial sniff around prior to joining us. Please reach out to us via the contact form and we can arrange a date and time that suits you!
What happens when it rains or is too cold for my dog to be outside?
All of our outdoor zones are fully equipped with a heated indoor space that your dog will have access to at all times. Perfect for a snooze or a cuddle.
Will my doggy be supervised at all times?
Yes. Your dog will be under constant supervision by our team of experienced carers and will NEVER be left unattended.
Do I need to book on the same days each week?
Yes. There is a minimum booking of 1 day per week on an ongoing basis. This ensures all the dogs and team are familiar, happy and settled. We understand however that you may need flexibility from time to time, so we will always try to accommodate any changes you need.
Do I need to be home when you collect or drop-off my doggy?
By 7pm the night before collection, we will share the time and collection point for the next morning. The collections are scheduled between 7:15 am to 8:30 am. Our aim is to meet you as close as possible to your home but we will always try to find a point which services a group of people at the same time! We will send you a live location link in the mornings so you can follow our journey towards your stop. Drop-offs will happen from 15:30 to 16:45 at the same points. However, if you are stuck and provide us with your keys, we can drop your doggy back into your home!
My doggy doesn't get on with other dogs, can it still come to Monty’s?
Unfortunately not. Although, we understand that not all dogs love being around groups of other dogs. If yours doesn't, then we aren't the right place for them to spend their days. Our daycare is a friendly and sociable place for dogs to interact and play together, and if your dogs isn't going to enjoy that or shows any form of aggression towards other dogs then we wouldn't be able to accept them.
What is your policy on neutering?
This is a very sensitive question for most dog owners. We don’t have a blanket policy for dogs to be neutered. The decision to neuter depends on a whole multitude of things and as such, we will always make recommendations and decisions based only on each individual dog, the behaviour they are demonstrating, and what we think is best for them.

At Monty's, we are determined to provide the safest, friendliest and most sociable environment for all our dogs to be in. As such, we welcome un-neutered dogs under the following conditions:
  • They are not excessively humping.
  • They are not displaying dominant behaviour.
  • They are not causing dominant behaviours from other dogs due to their intact status.
  • They are not creating an unsafe play environment.
  • Their presence is not reducing the overall peacefulness of the group.
  • All dogs are constantly monitored when they are in daycare, but as male dogs reach 6-7 months of age we keep an extra careful eye on them to watch out for the behaviour listed above. If/when these do start to show, we’ll let you know and make the necessary recommendations. If the owner does not accept our advice then we will not be able to accept their dog in the future.
  • Un-spayed female dogs are very welcome in daycare, apart from when they are actually in season. During this time, they need to be kept out of group play to prevent any unwanted pregnancies and also to prevent the boys going wild! If you choose not to spay your female dog, this is absolutely fine- you’ll just need to factor in that they won't be able to attend daycare during each season and these days will need to be cancelled and will be charged at the cancellation rate for that period of time. A season will usually last 2-3 weeks from start to finish.
Where is the daycare centre located?
Our estate is located in Amsterdam-Noord, a 10 minute drive from the city centre. Follow live updates on our Instagram for a closer look at our purpose built farm.
